When we feel happy, joyful, relaxed and loving in the company of friends, lovers, partners, children, family, pets etc we release our own internal feel good chemicals into the body such as Oxytocin (known as the Love Hormone). By releasing Oxytocin into the body you will feel better, ease stress and help support the immune system and natural healing.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">It would make sense then, that your health and well being is significantly impacted by the people you spend most of your time with. Maybe now is a good time to reevaluate your closest relationships and consider which ones promote greater health and the relationships that don\u2019t.<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Take a moment to reflect and journal<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Identify relationships that make you feel GOOD and why?<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Identify relationships that don\u2019t feel so good and why?<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p>Now let\u2019s take a deeper look at how we understand relationships and identify 5 relationship types. There are 5 types of relationship needs and it\u2019s important to note, you can\u2019t get everything you need from one person.<\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">The 5 relationship types:<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Friendship<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> deep levels of connections, understanding, fun and sharing of similar interests<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Love<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> unconditional, deep commitment with a partner, self love and acceptance<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Touch<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> a hug, cuddle, massage<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Intimacy<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> a deep level of openness, a vulnerability with another and a deep level of trust<\/span><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Sex<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\"> a sacred union with a partner<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Take a moment to reflect &amp; journal to recognise your own relationship needs<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">Evaluate how they're being met and with who<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">How can you improve and strengthen the relationship needs that are being met<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:Arial;\">How you can meet relationship needs that aren\u2019t being met<\/span><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong>The 5 Love Languages<\/strong><\/p><p>You could take your relationships another step further and explore Dr Gary Chapman\u2019s work about Love Languages. He wrote the book The 5 Love Languages which describes how people receive and give love in different ways. By gaining a deeper appreciation of how those that you care and love like to receive love helps you to meet their needs and strengthen bonds.
